Pinardville, New Hampshire

Pinardville is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hillsborough County, New Hampshire, USA. It has no official designation as a political or legal entity, but is the historic name for the eastern end of the town of Goffstown, New Hampshire. The population was 5,779 at the 2000 census. Pinardville has existed since 1906.

(42.996283, -71.508452)According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 4.7 km² (1.8 mi²). 4.3 km² (1.6 mi²) of it is land and 0.4 km² (0.2 mi²) of it (8.33%) is water.

As of the censusGR2 of 2000, there were 5,779 people, 1,932 households, and 1,234 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 1,352.3/km² (3,499.2/mi²). There were 1,969 housing units at an average density of 460.7/km² (1,192.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 97.49% White, 0.22% African American, 0.26% Native American, 0.61% Asian, 0.02% Pacific Islander, 0.48% from other races, and 0.92% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.11% of the population.
There were 1,932 households out of which 27.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.2% were married couples living together, 9.6% had a female householder with no husband present, and 36.1% were non-families. 25.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 10.7% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.44 and the average family size was 2.91.
In the CDP the population was spread out with 17.2% under the age of 18, 25.2% from 18 to 24, 26.8% from 25 to 44, 19.9% from 45 to 64, and 10.9% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 32 years. For every 100 females there were 93.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.0 males.
The median income for a household in the CDP was $49,640, and the median income for a family was $54,955. Males had a median income of $34,590 versus $25,687 for females. The per capita income for the CDP was $18,011. About 4.3% of families and 7.2% of the population were below the poverty line, including 7.2% of those under age 18 and 7.4% of those age 65 or over.

Pinardville has gained national notoriety in recent years as a football powerhouse in the EA Sports "NCAA Football" video games. When asked to explain the anomaly of a mere neighborhood consistently developing elite recruits, at a far superior level to that of all other cities in New England, EA Sports programming director Brian Salisbury notes a programming glitch that caused the projected population of Pinardville to be 5 million, as opposed to 5 thousand.
