[edit] Introducing your Captain...

I am an administrator here on Wikipedia. In real life (whatever that is), I am a part-time student pilot, at a small airport in northwestern North Carolina. I have plans to enter college in state next year at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, and will likely major in business, hopefully with an IT concentration. I'd like to pursue flying as a career. It's important to note that I have a slight mental disorder of sorts, and I'm slightly a nerd (;)), but I'm learning to realize life goes on and deal with it. Comments on how this page looks should go to my user talk: page.

[edit] What I do

On Wikipedia, I fill a couple of roles. These include editor, administrator, a channel staffer for the Vandalism Control Network, an advocate for the Association of Members' Advocates, and a volunteer for the foundation's OTRS response team.

  • Administrator: Basic tasks are done, mainly housekeeping-related work, insuring that CAT:ABL doesn't get too out of hand, and all the other things you'd expect.
  • Advocate: Similar to mediation and part of the dispute resolution process,I am willing to help resolve disputes through the AMA with full cooperation from all parties. Please see my desk for more information or assistance.
  • VCN staffer: As a staffer for the Vandalism Control Network, a network responsible for running vandalism detection channels for certain Wikimedia projects, I can assist in getting you confirmation for our channels, as well as handle any issues which may arise. Note while our channels do report vandalism on wikipedia, the VCN has no affiliation to Wikipedia or the counter vandalism unit.

The motto of the AWWDMBJAWGCAWAIFDSPBATDMTD is Est omnino difficile iudicare inclusionis meritum cuiusdam rei in encyclopædia cum ratio sciendi quid populi referat incerta sit, sed nihilominus aliquid encyclopædiam dedecet, which translates to, "it is generally difficult to judge the worthiness of a particular topic for inclusion in an encyclopedia considering that there is no certain way to know what interests people, but some topics nevertheless are not fit for an encyclopedia." This motto reflects the desire of these Wikipedians to be reluctant, but not entirely unwilling, to remove articles from Wikipedia.
