Pilgrim at Tinker Creek is a 1974 nonfiction narrative book by Annie Dillard. It won the Pulitzer Prize in 1975.
The book is about an unnamed, ambiguous narrator who lives by Tinker Creek, which is located in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, and records their observations and thoughts on the flora and fauna witnessed around them. Dillard has described it as a "book of theology."
The book is often described erroneously as a series of essays, but Dillard insists that it is a continuous work, as she often refers to occurances and observations from previous chapters as the narrative progresses. [1]
