[edit] Your contributions
Thank you for the many contributions you've made to the wikipedia. while your obvious efforts to contribute information have been appreciated, i'd like to point out a policy wikipedia has against original research and citing your sources. While I understand that contributing to articles that deal with fiction can make this difficult, often times if you add something that hasn't been mentioned yet and it only appears in say, one episode or an anime, you can avoid people deleting your work as nonsense by citing the episode's name, and hopefully the number. This would have made your contributions to Poke Ball and Waddle Dee more encyclopaedic. Also, anything that you need to add "probably" to is speculation, take a look at what wiki is not, specifically, that wikipedia isn't a crystal ball. If it's your own opinion (or even if it's the opinion of a large majority of people at a fansite forum, like serbii forums), without a reliable source it shouldn't be included. For fiction this would include news articles about the subject, the books/games/anime themselves (properly noted - take a close look at Poke ball and note how episodes are mentioned when referring to the anime), and reputable fansites that are not prone to errors regarding what you're citing (as far as pokemon go, serebii is reputable for episode guides, but psypokes has a better history when it comes to the pokedex info). Also take a quick look at writing about fiction, it's something that even the most die-hard wikipedians can sometimes forget to follow. If u have any q's feel free to leave me a msg on my talk. -ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 12:33, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
Regarding the edits to the Waddle Dee page: if you'll look more closely, you'll see that I didn't delete your information—instead, I cleaned it up a bit to make the page more professional-looking. I've reverted your change because of this. FredMSloniker 19:37, 5 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Poke Ball
I wasn't calling it satanism... that's merely the source's opinion - which I very much disagree with... you should perhaps take a closer look at the discussions before you assume points of view about complete strangers. -ΖαππερΝαππερ BabelAlexandria 19:09, 7 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] One Piece
All those characters you wrote crew thingys on like Kuro and Krieg... Its covered already on either their crew page or character page. So I removed them. Please don't repeat info. Once is enough. Angel Emfrbl 21:45, 14 January 2007 (UTC)
- I'm shocked that you seem unable to retain some maturity on Wikipedia... On the talk page of the Devil Fruit page and here with messing about with my note. While the first is nothing I can't delete, the latter is vandalism. You are allowed to deleted the comment, which if you disagreed with you should have done.
- All I ask is you stop opening discussions on wikipedia pages, we can't discuss whether Mihawk had a DF sword... Nor can we add that comment to the page (wikipedia is a place for encyclopedic facts about stuff this is speculations) in way or form. Can you understand this Pikazilla, you seem incapable of understanding something so simple. I'm not complaining, just asking that you stop please. Reread what Wikipedia is and isn't at least. - Look, I try to help the onepiece on this website and you're in the way. I try to help the onepiece on Onepiece.Wikia and you're STILL in the way. I just want to help give information to the onepiece fans that don't know crap, and crap is what you're giving me!! Only edit something that I write that is not true in any way.
[edit] Fair Use images on User page
You can have links to these images from your userpage, but you cannot display the images themselves. My understanding is that adding the copyright symbol is not enough. ~ BigrTex 21:19, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
Oh....Pikazilla 10:42, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- Free images on the other hand can be on your user page. If there is a picture of any of the subjects that is marked as Public Domain, GFDL (Gnu free document(?) license), etc. you can use those on your User page. My understanding is that all images on Commons are fair game for User pages too.
- The
FreeFair Use images are ones that Wikipedia stores for use on articles about those things - the CD image of the Red Hot Chili Peppers is okay on an article about the CD. It may also be okay in an article about the Red Hot Chili Peppers that discusses aspects of that particular CD, but even that is a gray area. It likely would not be okay in an article about the top albums of the year. It definately is not okay on a User page. I'm not a legal expert, and all of the gray areas I leave to the legal experts. ~ BigrTex 14:46, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
- I am so confused, but I'll do my best, just tell me what to do if I screw up again (I might put your name on my website!!).
-
- Perhaps without the typo, it will make more sense. There are a lot of images on Wikipedia. Anything that has a copyright by someone is only here if it falls under Fair Use because we use them to illustrate the subject of the image. The rest are here with their copyrights released through one of many licensing setups. If you go to the image page and there is a red copyright symbol, then it is not okay for your user page. I'm not sure if this makes things any clearer or not, but I hope it helps at least some. ~ BigrTex 19:37, 18 January 2007 (UTC)
