Piff's Elm

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Piff's Elm is the local name for part of the English parish of Elmstone-Hardwicke. It is effectively a hamlet, and is near Hardwicke, Uckington, and Junction 10 of the M5 motorway in Gloucestershire. The similarly named Withybridge is also nearby.

The colourful local pub, The Gloucester Old Spot is at Piff's Elm. Many local characters can be found drinking here, and the pub is the meeting place for the local vintage tractor society.

Tombs commemorating the Piff family, first recorded in the 16th century, lie in the churchyard of Elmstone-Hardwicke's St Mary Magdalene church. The elm itself was felled in 1844.
