[edit] notability issue
Hi, I've never participated in Wikipedia editing and don't plan to get started, but I ran up on this Lévy page and thought I could add something. He merits a wikipedia entry, as anyone who reads in cybertheory will know something of his work. It looks like you need stable outside sources to demonstrate this.
There is a nice timeline of cybertheory at http://www.artmuseum.net/w2vr/timeline/timeline.html One of Levy's books is on that timeline, which happens to be very selective.
His work is cited in the Companion to Digital Humanities, article on Robotic Poetics, newly available at http:// www.digitalhumanities.org/companion/
There is an interview with him at http://www.connected.org/learn/levy.html
Switch Journal has published an entire project of his work: http://switch.sjsu.edu/nextswitch/switch_engine/front/front.php?cat=48
Several talks and discussions of his have been archived at the web net museum: http://webnetmuseum.org/html/en/reflexion/reflexion_en.htm
and at MediaMente http://www.mediamente.rai.it/mmold/english/bibliote/biografi/l/levy.htm
There has been at least one academic article devoted to analyzing his work: Cochran, Terry. "Thinking at the Edge of the Galaxy: Pierre Lévy's World Projection." boundary 2, Vol. 26, No. 3. (Autumn, 1999), pp. 63-85. Stable URL: http://links.jstor.org/sici?sici=0190-3659%28199923%2926%3A3%3C63%3ATATEOT%3E2.0.CO%3B2-5
Do you think this will do for evidence of notability? Granted, he's not Karl Marx or even Groucho, but hi sname circulates frequently in cybertheory discussions and a reliable summary of his work would be helpful.
