Pierre Woodman, was born in Auvergne, France in 1963. He has been married three times and is a father of two children. He is divorced from the porn star Tania Russof, and since 2002 he lives with the photo model Sophie Paris. He is the author of more than sixty pornographic films, more than one thousand hardcore scenes, more than 1500 photosets and more than 7000 castings, he claims to have bedded more than 3000 women.
He has received numerous awards from some of the Adult Industry’s most prestigious organisations for the quality of his films, recognition of a style which more closely reflects the production values of traditional cinema than porn. He is considered to be the number 1 producer in the Adult Industry with a 62 countries distribution network. He continues to work in the fashion world, doing photo-sessions for big-name magazines ( Blast magazine cover and layout Sept 2006) and discovering fashion models from his castings which have gone on to belong to some of the most important modelling agencies as Alla Krivocheeva for Elite or recently the finalist of the Miss Hungary 2005, Budaï Zsuzsanna. He is often to be found in some of the film industry’s important events such as the Cannes Festival, and maintains a close relationship with the world of traditional cinema. Pierre Woodman makes regular press and television appearances all over the world in which his straightforward and sincere way of talking often amazes people.

His pseudonym Woodman comes from his childhood when he lived in the country and being very good at climbing up trees, his classmates at school called him "the man of the woods" which later became shortened to Woodman. That is why, later on, when he started in the world of Show Business he started signing as Pierre Woodman. On the other side of the Atlantic, this name has a double meaning, with strong sexual overtones. This double meaning was explained to him by his friend Jenna Jameson when they first met in Las Vegas in 1995.

Born in 1963 in France, Pierre Woodman is a man of humble origins whose early experience led him to a diversity of jobs from barman to police officer before his creative side led him into the world of fashion photography during the 1980s. Seeing the huge untapped potential in the emerging Adult Industry Pierre quickly moved into the world of erotic photography with Hot Video magazine. Firmly established on the road to success, 1992 saw Pierre accepting a position with Private Media Group where he began to produce High budget blockbusters such as "The Pyramid", "Tatiana, and Riviera", developing a unique style which has always maintained a close affinity with the quality and style of traditional cinema values. His work, as well as gaining a reputation for bestselling quality and garnering industry awards internationally, has also gained Pierre Woodman a reputation as a daring director who is never afraid to push the limits.In 2000 Pierre was invited with a multi-million dollar contract from Larry Flynt of Hustler, to produce a series of movies of the high quality with which his name had become synonymous. A series of blockbusters followed including such best sellers as "Brazilian Snake", and "Manipulation", resulting in Pierre Woodman being acclaimed by the media as the world’s most popular porn producer. However, Pierre was soon to realise that Hustler were not investing in promotion of his work, relying on the Woodman name alone to sell the product. After a brief sojourn to star alongside Daryl Hannah in the mainstream Spanish movie "Yo Puta", and to return briefly to Private to produce the nº 1 US bestseller "Sex City" trilogy (private.com news letter june 2006), Pierre decided to use his reputation and experience to develop his own brand. Investors were quick to support this new development in the Adult Industry, and after first setting up an online affiliate programme "Spider Cash" to market his existing content, Pierre in 2006 founded the New Adult Production label Woodman Entertainment and began work on the brands first major blockbuster, the 800,000€ "Xcalibur" starring Playboy Playmate Caylian Curtis. For Xcalibur a massive casting was organised to find 40 actresses, 35 actors and 250 extras causing quite a stir in the porn World. Berlin’s Venus fair 2006 was the first occasion for people to see Woodman Entertainment in action with eight of the girls from Xcalibur including Caylian Curtis.

Pierre Woodman started with his castings for Private in 1992. At the beginning there was no commercial motivation behind them, but after the conviction of Mike Tyson for rape, he always asked for witnesses to be there when the castings took place. This is how the "Castings X" and the "behind the Scenes" started. Pierre Woodman has spent more than 15 years in Eastern Europe casting new talent, and this is how he discovered some of the biggest stars in the porn world. The Casting X DVDs that were later put on release (after 1997) gives a good idea of what takes place in his castings.
They take place in hotel rooms, mainly around Eastern Europe, where his recruitment agents bring him their last discoveries. He has also discovered his exclusive girls in shopping malls and other public places. The girls that he casts are generally 18 or 20 years old. Most of them do not really know what Pierre does. For him, the most difficult stage is to get them to go to his hotel room. Once there, with help from his interpreter, he shows the girls a magazine or some pornographic images and invites them to do something similar. Their initial response is usually no, but after having long conversations with them, he often manages to convince them. Pierre Woodman has already released 64 DVDs from his Casting X series, using Hungarian girls (427), Czech girls (336), Russians (176), Romanians (41) and other nationalities (+ 200) and in an interview he claimed to have more than 7000 castings in stock. All of this could make the thousandth edition of Pierre Woodman’s Casting X a very real possibility.
