Piero, (1944-present) is the stage name of Piero De Benedictis, an Italian-born Argentine folk singer.

Piero was born in April of 1944 in Italy and moved to Argentina at the age of 3. Initially Piero sang songs in Italian, but after winning a festival in Spanish in 1969, he became very popular in Latin America.

Piero is known throughout Latin America as a folk singer. His most famous songs include "Mi Viejo," "Juan Boliche," "Los Americanos," and a score of other songs.

Piero was most popular during the 1970's. Piero continues to sing and is considered one of the best folk singers in Latin America.
