Piedmont bioregion

The Piedmont bioregion comprises the piedmont areas of North Carolina, South Carolina and northern Georgia as defined by the principals of bioregionalism.

Erosion of the piedmont plateau created iron-oxide rich clay soils. Three general landforms exist. Flat ridges, Hillsides and, Floodplains. Each landform has its own Ecology.
