Piedmont Technical College

Piedmont Technical College (http://www.ptc.edu) is a two-year degree granting, tertiary educational institution. The College's Lex Walters Campus is located in Greenwood, South Carolina, and six County Centers also operate in Abbeville County, Edgefield County, Laurens County,McCormick County, Newberry County, and Saluda County to serve students and citizens residing in those communities. Piedmont Technical College serves the largest geographic area of any institution in the South Carolina Technical College System. The College was founded in 1966. Dr. Lex Walters has led the college since 1969, first as director and then as college president since 1973.

Piedmont Technical College offers more than 70 degrees, diplomas, and certificates, which are tied directly to the employment needs of the local community and area employers. The College has also received regional and state recognition for its distance learning programs.
