[edit] History

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

Pie's race originally lived on Earth, but it became uninhabitable so they moved to another planet, but this planet was even worse. All the aliens were forced to live underground for thousands of years. They finally came back to Earth, only to find that it had been taken over by humans. It is unknown how humans ended up on Earth.

[edit] Manga

Pie is introduced in volume three of the Tokyo Mew Mew manga, along with Tart. He and Tart were called in by Deep Blue to help Kish defeat Tokyo Mew Mew.

[edit] Anime

Pie is introduced in episode 13 of the Tokyo Mew Mew, titled "Surechigau Kokoro, Nerawareta Aoyama-kun" (Intersecting Hearts, Aoyama-kun is Targeted).

[edit] Tokyo Mew Mew à la Mode

In À la Mode, Pie makes a small appearance in one small panel telling Kish that showing his stomach will make him catch a cold, and saying to Tart, "The idiot never catches a cold...", as Tart says he shows his stomach but doesn't get a cold.

[edit] Mew Mew Power

In Mew Mew Power, it seems like the aliens had always lived on a separate planet and were jealous that the humans had a better planet. Sardon also seems to already know some of the human technology (i.e. air conditioners).

[edit] Personality

Pie is the most serious and determined of the three aliens when it comes to getting back the earth, reviving Deep Blue and defeating the Mew Mews. He usually thinks up the plans to take over the world and is quite intelligent. He is the most devoted of the three to their cause. Pie rarely smiles in the manga and anime.

[edit] Profile

  • Name Pronunciation: Japanese equivalent of "pie" is pronounced the same way as the English word.
  • English Name Origin: A pun on the word "sardonic", meaning disdainfully or skeptically humorous, derisively mocking.
  • Age: Unknown, but a good estimate would be around 18-19 years old
  • Height: About 182 cm (about 6'5 in Mew Mew Power). Pie is the tallest character in Tokyo Mew Mew.
  • Weight: Unknown
  • Blood Type: Unknown
  • Hair Color: Dark purple
  • Eye Color: Dark purple
  • BMI: Unknown
  • Love Interest: Though never offcially given a love interest in either the anime or manga, he interacts with Lettuce Midorikawa near the end of the anime as she tries to convince him that their two sides shouldn't fight. He seems to understand her at the end and gives her a smile before sacrificing himself for Ryou and the Mew team.

[edit] Weapons and abilites

He carries a fan that allows him to use wind and thunder attacks. His attacks are Fuu-Rai-Sen (Windy Thunder Fan) and Fuu-Hyou-Sen (Windy Ice Fan). In Mew Mew Power, his attacks are Aerial Tempest and Ice Wind Blast. However, later episodes of the dub make things confusing by constantly renaming Fuu-Rai-Sen as several different attack names. In addition to Aerial Tempest, the names Tempest Strike and Aerial Torpedo have occurred as a result of such. (Similar cases of this are also applied to Lettuce/Bridget's attacks.) Pie can also create an assortment of Chimera Animas, but not as much like Kish and Tart do. Like the other aliens, he can fly and teleport.

Spoilers end here.

[edit] Voice Actors

  • In Tokyo Mew Mew, his seiyu is Nobutoshi Kanna.
  • In Mew Mew Power, his voice actor is Pete Zarustica.
  • In Miau Miau Power (Spainish adaptation), his voice actor is Harold Leal.
  • In Mew Mew: Amiche Vincenti (Italian adaptation), his voice actor is Diego Sabre.
  • In As Super Gatinhas (Portuguese adapation), his voice actor is Ivo Roberto.

[edit] Trivia

  • Despite the anime-only interaction Lettuce and Pie share, many fans prefer to pair him with Zakuro because of their similar personalities. It should be noted that both pairs are strictly made up by fans when it comes to the manga, and in the anime's case concerning Lettuce and Pie, open to the elaborations of the fans.
