The school's GCSE results are improving every year and the school hopes to improve this year with the current year 11's. The school's canteen has taken on a new healthy eating campaign and there are numerous sport activities to do in and out of school.

The school has had a revamp over the last few years introducing a new building to replace the older dilapidated building and bring the school on to one site. A sports hall was built to back up the sports college status.

There are proposals to make the school a privately funded school in the near future as part of the government's Building Schools for the Future plans.
