Pi Lambda Sigma

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pi Lambda Sigma (also: ΠΛΣ or πλσ) was the first library science honor society in the United States.

Founded at Syracuse University in 1903, it merged with (and became a chapter of) Beta Phi Mu in 1959.[1]

After a century since its founding, Pi Lambda Sigma remains actively affiliated with Syracuse's School of Information Studies, initiating new members annually as well as sponsoring various scholarships.
