Phthalic acids

Phthalic acids, also known as benzene dicarboxylic acids, are organic acids with the chemical formula C6H4(COOH)2. There are three isomers: ortho- or phthalic acid (benzene-1,2-dicarboxylic acid); meta- or isophthalic acid (benzene-1,3-dicarboxylic acid); para- or terephthalic acid (benzene-1,4-dicarboxylic acid).
