PHROOT stands for PHP Rapid Object Oriented Technology ([fru:t]) and is a framework that is generally modeled for object oriented PHP after the server <-> client abstraction taken from the basic specifications and interfaces of the Java programming language.
It provides a solid unit-tested environment and a profound fundament for PHP-based enterprise applications, adding a processor for extensible Tag Libraries and a genuine Expression Language compiler plus a growing number of libraries, that support and ease the daily work, like Servlet URL mapping and filtering, Controllers, Domain Model and View separation (MVC), Portlets, I/O and Persistence abstraction.
