My name is John, and I was born in the USA, but I have lived, traveled, worked, and studied all over Latin America. The countries I know best are Chile, Argentina, & Mexico. I am a passionate student of Latin American history & literature, and I was an "investigador registrado" in the Archivo Nacional while studying at the Universidad de Chile. I am also an avid backpacker & futbol (Los De Abajo!) fan. My other interests include religion (esp. early Christianity), ancient history, the Bible, the Apocrypha, the Nag Hamadi Library, the Septuagint, and other ancient sources.

I am VERY new to Wikipedia, and I believe that to begin with I'll focus on editing English Wikis & translating articles from the Spanish, Portuguese, & French Wikipedias into English. Then I'll probably move on to writing biographies, beginning with Chileans & Argentines that have not been expanded from stubs.
