Based in Toronto, Ontario, Phone Card Depot sells prepaid phone cards (Telephone Card) to customers in USA, Canada, Germany, Argentina, Belgium, UK and Spain. Merchandise is sold through one e-commerce store front and via a North American Toll-Free number.

Phone Card Depot opened for business in 2001. In October of 2006, Phone Card Depot was the case study at Impact Leadership Conference, Canada's student-run entrepreneurship event, and in November of 2006, Phone Card Depot was awarded an excellent ranking by the Canadian Web Awards.

According to the Phone Card Depot Blog, the company was founded in 2001 in Richmond Hill, Ontario by Tavis McKenzie and his business partner John Thomas. Phone Card Depot has grown from a local-only telephone call center to a calling card distribution centre with local access throughout North America and Europe. Phone Card Depot's mission principals are: Customers should always be treated honestly, operating costs must be kept to a minimum to provide customers with exceptional pricing and that the company must thoroughly test all products before making them available for sale.

As at January, 2007 The Phone Card Depot's uses drop down menus to filter it's calling card search results. Security seals at January 2007 include: Scan Alert's Hacker Safe and Geotrust's 128-bit encyription.

Security: As at January 2007: The Phone Card Depot home page displays Geotrust 128-bit SSL encryption for all credit card transactions. According to a Phone Card Depot Blog entry on August 23, 2006 Hacker Safe certification was implemented August of 2006. Free e-mail accounts are all validated by phone before any orders are sent out to prevent identity fraud.
