Phoenix Equity Partners is a leading United Kingdom mid-market private equity firm.
Phoenix manages funds exceeding £900 million on behalf of leading institutions and other investors from around the world. The firm has completed over 85 successful private equity investments. They are active in a range of sectors, in particular: consumer and healthcare, financial services, leisure and retail, media, and business services.
Phoenix Equity Partners was established as a fully independent firm in March 2001, following its spin-out from Credit Suisse. Prior to that, six of the firm’s partners worked within the captive European private equity arm of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette.
The group has owned a variety of notable businesses including the Raleigh Bicycle Company, Filofax and Jimmy Choo.
In April 2006, Phoenix Equity Partners was named "Private Equity House of the Year" at the Real Deals/BVCA Awards. Phoenix also claimed the "Mid-Market Deal of the Year" award for its sale of Covenant Healthcare to Electra Partners Europe.
