Animal Planet Heroes: Phoenix is a television reality show on Animal Planet that follows the work of the 17 Emergency Animal Medical Technicians employed by the Arizona Humane Society (AHS) in Phoenix, Arizona. The AHS employs 10 full-time veterinarians, most at their on-site hospital called "Second Chance". The AHS takes in more than 50,000 animals per year; 10,000 of these are rescued. During 2005, the AHS found homes for 18,028 companion animals in their work in preventing and prosecuting animal cruelty in Phoenix, Arizona.[1]

The show, which debuted in 2005, is part of an "umbrella rotation" of shows known collectively as "Animal Planet Heroes", along with shows set in New York, New York (Animal Precinct), Detroit, Michigan (Animal Cops Detroit), Houston, Texas (Animal Cops Houston), Miami, Florida (Miami Animal Police), and San Francisco, California (Animal Cops San Francisco). This is the first show that has actually used the umbrella designator in its title.
