[edit] Jendo

Jendo was originated in Mandaluyong,Philippines. I was founded by its originator Grandmaster Jonathan "June" Makiling Abaya based on his concept and principles called "Tres Energias" or "Tri-Force". It is an authentic Filipino fighting system that utilizes empty-hand, long and short sticks and bladed weapons as a menas of self-defense. It is one of the very few Filipino martial arts able to pass the screening and requirements of the Philippine Sports Commission(PSC)and the different major national sports associations of martial arts for registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as an original art. Thanks for the start with the Jendo article. I added a category and a few tags which should help you expand the article and draw attention to it from others who may also be able to help. Please be careful to write directly rather than cut and paste from the web site - copyright problems often result in deletion. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask. Cheers Peter Rehse 11:15, 4 October 2006 (UTC)

I removed All-style Fighting Championships from the List of Martial Arts. In that case the List of martial arts-related topics would be better. Please make some effort to have articles have the same form as other Wikipedia articles. I've again added tags and categories but we shouldn`t have to do that for you. [edit] Jendo 7th Wolverines Clan

A tag has been placed on Jendo 7th Wolverines Clan, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. – ipso 15:26, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Jendo Instructors

Let me suggest that you expand the Jendo article itself with names of instructors. I do this for a several reasons.

  • 1 The Jendo article is still pretty short and in need of expansion.
  • 2 It is doubtful that individual instructors will meet notability guidelines for their own articles and will be deleted.
  • 3 I think the Jendo article is stable enough but it does not really address notability (sorry government recognition is not enough) and for that reason could still be deleted. Giving an idea of how many places practice it (through a list of instructors) would go a long way to fixing that problem.

Per the deletion of the article mentioned below, I would suggest you take that same information and try to merge it into the Jendo article. That will both expand the article and get the info back into WP.
PS: Might I suggest you join WikiProject Martial Arts? You seem to be pretty knowledgeable about Jendo, and they could probably use someone with your expertise. — Tuvok[T@lk/Improve me] 21:55, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Jendo Martial Arts Heads and Instructors

A tag has been placed on Jendo Martial Arts Heads and Instructors, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. — Tuvok [T@lk/Improve me] 06:50, 15 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] License tagging for Image:Arsol1.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Arsol1.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

[edit] Your work with Jendo and Grandmaster Jonathan Makiling Abaya

I like your edits on Jendo and Grandmaster Jonathan Makiling Abaya. You are helping to expand wikipedia to include another Martial Arts. But you need to make sure you follow some of the requirements to be on wikipedia. Like the images you uploaded, you need to tell who created them... if they were your own pictures or someone else's and stuff like that. Also if you noticed some of your articles have been getting deleted, because they don't give many outside sources about people's existence. I point to a now deleted article about 'Jendo Martial Arts Heads and Instructors' -- this was deleted because the person believed that the article was very short and didn't give enough background information. Please ask me or other users who has posted above to help you with your edits made in good faith. MrMacMan 20:28, 15 February 2007 (UTC)
