Hi! My name is Phil. I live in Alexandria, Virginia, and work as an economist in the Office of Employment Projections at the Bureau of Labor Statistics in Washington, DC.
In 2004-2005, I was a Fulbright Scholar studying at the University of Cologne in Germany. Before I went to Germany, I was a student at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, where I graduated with a B.A. in 2004. I also studied abroad in Munich for two semesters. Having lived in Germany almost two years, I speak fluent German. I would like to learn other languages, especially French and perhaps Spanish, although I haven't gotten very far in that effort.
My friends say that I am an overwhelming source of (sometimes useless) information, which is why I decided to start contributing to Wikipedia and sharing some of it with people who might actually care.

I am an avid traveler, though I'm still stuck on two continents (Europe and North America). Since moving to Virginia, I've been trying to see more of the American East Coast. I'm hoping to make a trip to Peru and possibly Bolivia sometime in 2007... We'll see. In the mean time, take a look at my pictures at Webshots.
