Philippe Legrain

Philippe Legrain is a British economist, journalist and writer. He writes about globalisation, migration and European issues. He was previously chief economist and director of policy for the pro-European pressure group, Britain in Europe, special adviser to WTO director-general Mike Moore, and trade and economics correspondent for The Economist.

He has written for various newspapers and magazines, including The Guardian, The Times, the FT, The Independent, the Wall Street Journal Europe, Prospect magazine and the New Statesman. He is the author of Open World:/ The Truth about Globalisation, which is a counter-argument to Naomi Klein's No Logo, and his new book on international migration, Immigrants: Your Country Needs Them, is due to be published in January 2007. He is a major advocate of the euro, globalisation and freer international migration.

Philippe Legrain lives in London and is a keen Arsenal supporter.
