Philippe Entremont

Philippe Entremont (b. Reims, June 7, 1934) is a French pianist and conductor.

Conductor Laureate of both the Vienna Chamber Orchestra, as well as the Israel Chamber Orchestra, he founded the biennial Santo Domingo Music Festival in 1997. Since 2002 he has been Principal Guest Conductor of China’s Shanghai Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra. During the 2003-2004 season, Maestro Entremont appeared extensively throughout Europe and the United States. During the 2005-2006 Season, Entremont lead the Munich Symphony Orchestra as both conductor and pianist for a the orchestra's US debut tour.

He made his recording debut as dual pianist and conductor in 1968 on a Columbia records release in which he played Mozart Piano Concertos 13 and 17 and conducted the Collegium Musicum of Paris.
