Philip Sidney, 2nd Viscount De L'Isle

Philip John Algernon Sidney, 2nd Viscount De L’Isle MBE (born 21 April 1945) is a British peer and former soldier.
The eldest son of the 1st Viscount De L'Isle, Sidney was edcuated at Tabley House, Mons OCS and Sandhurst. In 1966, he became a Major in the Grenadier Guards and took early retirement in 1979. He has been Vice-Lieutenant of Kent since 2002 and is also a Freeman of the City of London and a member of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths. On 15 November 1980, he married Isobel Tersyllian Compton (the youngest daughter of Sir Edmund Compton) and they have two children, Hon. Sophie Jacqueline Mary (born 1983) and Hon. Philip William Edmund (born 1985). Sidney succeeded to his father's titles in 1991.
