Philip Bester

Philip Bester (born October 6, 1988 in Sonthoffen, Germany) is a Canadian tennis player. He grew up in Poland and later North Vancouver, British Columbia and trains at the Nick Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

Bester is currently Canada's top-ranked junior male tennis player and was a member of the 2005 Canadian Davis Cup team. He was voted British Columbia's junior male athlete for 2005 and reached a career-high No. 8 on the International Tennis Federation Junior Boys rankings on January 2, 2006.

In October of 2005, Bester suffered an injury that kept him out of competition until June of 2006 when he competed in the Boys' Singles section of the French Open. A natural serve-and-volley player, Bester made a remarkable comeback becoming the first Canadian male junior to play in a Grand Slam final.
