[edit] Biography

Formed in 2001 by drummer Julien Schmidt and former singer Jane Doe and completed within a few months by bassist A. Frank and guitarist John Keffer

The German rock and gothic scene evolved PHILIAE within only one and a half years into an underground tip. With the first full length album "Scapegod" which came out in 2003 band history, PHILIAE could gain a lot of premature praise from sides of the appropriate press. Among others, the editor in chief of the "Zillo" - one of the opinion leaders within the German gothic scene – wrote: „… PHILIAE will have to become huge in no time, if there's still an ounce of justice left in the music industry. “

The record was followed by numerous concerts, among others, the Zillo Open-Air on the Lorely stage, as well as in 2004 the first tour through Germany and Denmark. During this phase PHILIAE already started to write songs for their second album "PROPAGANDA" which release was planned for the end of 2004.

In the Autumn of 2004 singer Jane Doe parted from the Band. Official comments from the band as well as from Doe himself, claim that there were artistic disparity to the material of the second album.

In the Beginning of 2005, Guido Maria Kober is acquired as the new Philiae singer. Patrick Debus, who has been responsible for the visual part of the project now completes the line-up.

Early 2006 the EP "The Dawn of a New Error" is released.
