There were a total of 1,103 students enrolled in the Philadelphia Public School District during the 2005-2006 school year. The gender makeup of the district was 50% female and 50% male. The racial makeup of the district was 66% African American, 31% White, 2% Native American, 1% Hispanic, and less than 1% Asian.[1]
