Phil Weightman

Phil Weightman is the State Member for the electorate of Cleveland in Queensland, Australia.
Phil was elected to the seat of Cleveland in September 2006.
Phil and his wife Kerry and their two children, Matt and Madeline, have called the Redlands home for the past 25 years.
Prior to his election, Phil served as a Queensland Police Officer during which time he worked in Cleveland as a Detective and District Duty Officer.
Upon his election, Phil retired from the Queensland Police Service, putting an end to a police career that began in 1980.
Phil is actively involved in his local community and currently serves as the patron of a number of community organisations including:
• Matthew Stanley Foundation;
• Bayside Community Radio Association Inc
• Phoenix Lifestyle Support; and
• Redlands Junior Rugby League
• Relay for life
Phil is a member of the Moreton TAFE Advisory Council and is actively involved in the Point Lookout Surf Life Saving Club on North Stradbroke Island as a patrolling member and member of the Club's management committee.
He is also involved with many local sports teams in a variety of sports including: touch football, softball, swimming, cricket, rugby, and rugby league.
Phil is also heavily involved with Camp Quality, a children's cancer support organisation, as a local fundraiser and management committee member.
