Phil King

Phil King (born Philip King, 29 April 1960, London) is an English musician, best known for being the bass guitarist in Lush.

He joined Lush in 1994 before their second album Split, and was with the band until they disintegrated in 1998. He would later join The Jesus and Mary Chain as a touring bass player. He currently plays bass in the band "The Fallen Leaves", with Robert Symmons (ex Subway Sect) and, sometimes, Paul Cook (ex Sex Pistols) and plays guitar with Jim Reid.

The self-styled "Zelig of the indie scene", King has also played with: Felt, See See Rider, Biff Bang Pow!, Apple Boutique, The Servants, Welfare Heroine, John's Children, John Howard Band, Brett Smiley, Jackie DeShannon and Hangman's Beautiful Daughters.

King has also played drums in Primal Scream's "Gentle Tuesday" music video.

He is currently freelancing as a picture researcher at UNCUT magazine.
