Phil Green

Phil Green ran as a candidate for the Conservative Party of Canada in the riding of Mississauga South in both the 2004 federal election and 2006 federal election. He was defeated by incumbent Liberal Paul Szabo in both elections. In 2006 he lost by only 2,130 votes, the closest race in all Toronto and Mississauga ridings.

Phil Green is president of Greenbridge Management Inc., a management consulting firm specializing in risk management and productivity improvement. It has served clients across Canada, the US and in South America. As a volunteer with the City of Mississauga, he founded and chaired the Mississauga Cycling Advisory Committee, which developed a plan, over a 10 year period, to build a 500 km bicycle path network, 200 km of which were built by 2006. The City of Mississauga created the Phil Green Recognition Award in "in recognition of the outstanding work done by Mr Phil Green in promoting safe cycling and sustainable transportation in Mississauga".

Mr Green has published in a wide variety of journals. His publications have covered social issues, business management, basic science, fisheries science, water quality issues, health, safety and environmental matters, statistical techniques and others. Some of his publications are in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
