[edit] Disambiguation

This page is getting messy. It should either follow the Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation_pages) guidelines and have the content split into other articles, or else it should be organized better and not be called a disambiguation page. --Vossanova 17:40, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

In music, Phantasy was (is!) a favored spelling for the older form of fantasia, e.g. in Britain before the 18th century, and again when this term was used to describe one-movement chamber works in contrasting sections at the beginning of the 20th c (the Walter Willson Cobbett phantasy competitions which were won by works by Frank Bridge, Benjamin Britten and John Ireland among others, if I remember.)
