[edit] Don't delete
Phajje ke Paye is a famous historical cultural institution in Lahore. What is the problem with the article? It is hardly advertising (especially since I have no relation to the company). --Barastert 07:32, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- You'll have to cite some evidence of notability.. All I've found is a single sentence mention on a tourist site stating it was famous..--Vercalos 07:40, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- It's a wierd name to transliterate. Other forms are "phajjay ke payay", "phajjay ke payee", "phajjay ke paaye", etc. Have a look at the following links and find "phajj": [1], [2], [3], [4]. None of these are academic references, I know, but should at least convince you that the article should not be deleted. --Barastert 07:54, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Here's a good reference which transliterates it as "phajja": [5] --Barastert 08:00, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I'm thinking of changing the deletion template to a regular deletion discussion, as I don't think it specifically falls under the speedy delete criterion it was nominated for.. but it does need more substantial information, such as the history of the resturaunt, preferebly referring to local newspapers. Looks like it's possible for it to become a decent Wikipedia Article. To be honest, with this particular article, I'm more worried about notability, as it doesn't seem like an advert.--Vercalos 08:50, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Here's an article from one of Pakistan's most respected news magazines that mentions Phajja: [6] --Barastert 09:20, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- OK, I'm replacing the speedy delete with a regular deletion discussion template, I think it might be notable enough to remain, but I'd like a consensus.--Vercalos 09:37, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Looks like a made a bit of an error.. I'm going to take this to AI/Incidents.--Vercalos 09:42, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, so now where are we meant to debate this new delete? The Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Phajje ke Paye page already has material from the last delete request. How does this work? --Barastert 18:25, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- I started a discussion on the page I linked earlier. I'm still trying to figure out whether it's an appropriate approach or not.--Vercalos 04:11, 16 December 2006 (UTC)
