Phantasmal poison frogs can live up to 10 years in captivity. They belong to the Dendrobatidae family, and are sometimes called Dendrobatid Frogs. They have radiant color, powerful poison, and yet are some of the smallest frogs around, ranging from 1 to 4 centimeters.
They have one of the strongest poisons of frogs, besides the poison dart frog. Their toxity is known to be lethal. One of commonly related organisms, the blue triden frog, is frequently mixed up with the Phantasmal poison frog.
