Phallus Dei was the first album by German band Amon Düül II. The title translates into English as "God's Penis". The album was the result of the Amon Düül commune in Munich splitting, perhaps due to some members of the original Amon Düül's musical ineptitude. The album is a cornerstone of German psychedelic music because of its layered guitars, abstract percussion, and chant-like vocals. It is heavily cited (along side Can's Monster Movie) as the original Krautrock album.
It was reissued in 2001, digitally remastered, and contained five extra tracks: "Freak Out Requiem (I-IV)" and "Cymbals in the End".
