Hospitalized for Wikistress!!!!! I am suffering from wikiburnout and chronic Wikistress.

And real life is very much in the way these days.

I probably won't be able to log in as frequently and contribute as much as I would like. Messages left here probably won't get a quick response as before. Your patience would be very much appreciated.

Take care, everyone.
Happy editing.

[edit] Question about Main Page 'On this day'

I see that you are active on the On this day... feature.I have a nomination for August 21.Should I add it to Wikipedia:Selected_anniversaries/August_21 or to the talk page? Or, is there another process? — ERcheck (talk) 01:24, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Yes, ERcheck, suggestions can go to the talkpage of the Sel. Anniv. template. Please be reminded that the featured item (with the link in boldface) must be a decent wikipage (no stubs, no problem tags like {NPOV} or {cleanup}, etc.) with the date in the text, important historic events are strongly preferred, and hopefully the same wikipage don't get featured in another Sel. Anniv. templates. There is also the issue of diversity (in topic, era, geographical locations ....) and we are not supposed to steal TFA's thunder or re-use recent DYK or ITN items. I'm not trying to discourage you, but I thought I should let you know of the "rules" there. What would you like to post there ? I'm looking for a replacement for the 1680 item, anyway. -- PFHLai 13:09, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
The article is not a stub. The information is verified and cited in the article. It has not been in DYK or ITN.
On August 21, 1968, the Medal of Honor was posthumously awarded to James Anderson, Jr.— which was the first award of the Medal of Honor to an African American U.S. Marine.
Let me know if this meets the need.If so, I'll add it to the talk page. — ERcheck (talk) 22:39, 16 August 2006 (UTC)
Thank you for the suggestion, ERcheck. I've added a similar line to the template as a hidden backup item (in case one of the other items becoming a TFA, getting tagged for NPOV, etc.)I did not use it as a 'live' item because there have been complaints about having too many US-related items in the Sel.Anniv. section, e.g. Wikipedia talk:Selected anniversaries#USA bias in Selected Anniverary. If you feel strongly about featuring this item, please consider swapping this with the 1976 item. (I don't think Operation Paul Bunyan was that historic an event, but this year is the 30th anniversary. What the heck.) You are an admin, so you can edit it anytime. I'll be off-line that whole week, so help yourself. :-) Cheers. -- PFHLai 06:42, 17 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Suggestion on ITN

Hi there - see you added the content to "In the news" about the "Queen of the Maori" I would suggest it would be better titled "Maori Queen" (as per first paragraph of the Te Atairangikaahu article. Most New Zealanders knew her as the Maori Queen not Queen of the Maori. Also the use of the flag on the main page seems strange - the flag is not really the flag of the Maori soveriegn his/herself but more a flag representing Maori (see Tino rangatiratanga) cheers Goldfinger820 04:37, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

Hello. I typed in "Queen of the Maori" to avoid sticking "(flag pictured)" in between "Maori" and "Queen". I've fixed it now. Hope it's better.
The flag was suggested on Wikipedia:In the news section on the Main Page/Candidates. If there is a better image to use on ITN, please post your suggestion there. Thanks. -- PFHLai 13:20, 16 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Sunset-to-Sunset Holidays on Selected anniversaries

Hope you are doing well on your current Wikivacation. Since you have been the most active on WP:SA, I want to let you know there has been a request to post sunset-to-sunset holidays on both days. A couple of users posted messages on both WP:ERRORS and Talk:Main Page who would have liked to have Yom Kippur listed on both October 1 and October 2. I have archived the discussion on WP:ERRORS to Wikipedia talk:Selected anniversaries. Thanks. Zzyzx11 (Talk) 05:16, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for the note, Zzyzx11. I would've missed it otherwise. Thanks. --PFHLai 13:55, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Hi PFHLai, thanks for completing the descriptions of those images I uploaded to commons. I was in a rush when I uploaded them and meant to complete them later, but you beat me to it :) Cheers, jacoplane 19:26, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

The page User:MarkS/Extra edit buttons/dev2.js contains a broken redirect and needs to be removed. Thanks a lot. --Willy No1lakersfan (Talk - Contribs) 00:14, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Yes, I can delete it, but I would prefer getting a note directly from the wikipedian who created it.It's a subpage of MarkS's userpage. Thanks for letting me know, anyway. --PFHLai 00:27, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Chronological order at "In the news"

Hi there. I noticed that with this edit you changed the date for the chess entry from 13 October to 12 October. In fact, 13 October was the correct date, as the tie-break session was played that day. Something to be careful about and check in future, to avoid misunderstandings. Also, I'm not sure why you changed the picture. Thanks. Carcharoth 09:58, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Hello, Carcharoth. Thanks for pointing that out.I must have misread the article yesterday.I've fixed the order on ITN. About the picture, well, I put Ban Ki-moon on top so I posted his pic there to go with the top line.Ban's pic is now a day old.If there is a better image available (e.g. the actual Currie Cup), we can use it instead. -- PFHLai 13:13, 15 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the correction. Carcharoth 13:12, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Martti Ahtisaari

In an interview on Finnish TV, Martti Ahtisaari said that he thought this was his last chance to have a realistic hope of ever winning the Nobel Peace Prize. I took it to mean he isn't going to bother trying to win it any more. But I'm glad you reverted my addition anyway, it wasn't really important. JIP | Talk 14:02, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

Hmmm... I wonder why he would say that. He might get it next year or whenever he is done with Kosovo. I hope he is okay health-wise. Anyway, I'm happy that you approve of my edit at ITN. --PFHLai 15:18, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks!

Thanks for your suggestion regarding Gene's publicity shot. I appreciate your help. I think I'm just going to go ahead and contact his theatre and get specific permission for Wikipedia. That way they'll be no question what-so-ever. Thanks Again! KindSould 19:20, 15 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] cyclist

hey, i was looking at an old talkpage archive of mine and clicked on your name randomly, then noticed ur cycling template and thought it was kind of ironic and coincidental that last wednesday I almost died in a cycling accident, it kinda of made me chuckle at the coincidence that ur template says you may crash, ha ha, and i did actually crash.Yeah, I ended up with just a severe concussion, recovering now, but still thought it interesting to bring up.Sorry to be random about it though, lol. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 21:39, 18 October 2006 (UTC)

Sorry to hear that you had a serious bike accident, Pedro. Unconscious for 14 hours ?Sounds scary. How are you doing now ?I hope you are doing better.
I'm glad that you find that 'joke userbox' of mine amusing. I've had my share of close calls. I take the subway every day now.
Have a speedy recovery, i.e. Let's put your concussion on WP:SPEEDY.

Take care. -- PFHLai 17:39, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Hey, thanks for the message.I've mostly recovered already but I'm not allowed to drive or do anything strenous (like work or go to school) until October 30... this has been a really boring week is all i can say. When i started out last week i could hardly type coherently, had vertigo and terrible headaches, now I feel fine but am still not allowed to do anything, but hey it could've been a lot worse. It's all my fault for not wearing a helmet, lol. Thanks for the message again, and for using my first name cause no one ever calls me that on here, lol. -- SmthManly / ManlyTalk / ManlyContribs 17:52, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
You are welcome, Pedro. Good to know that you are indeed getting better. Here's a new userbox for you:

[edit] Rugby World Cup

Perhaps you might want to change the image to Image:William Webb Ellis Cup.jpg?--HamedogTalk|@ 12:16, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, I'll pass; because (1) the holder's arm appears too prominently and distracting, (2) more details of the Cup can be seen in the current pic (Image:Free RWC William Webb Ellis.PNG). Thanks for the suggestion, though. -- PFHLai 12:25, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] T:DYK

You enlarged the image size to 101px. But the problem is that earlier it was displaying properly on my browser, and now it doesn't. I'm not too sure if I should revert it, but if it works for you, I guess I'll wait. Cheers! --May the Force be with you!Shreshth91 14:26, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

This is odd. Earlier today, it wasn't working on my screen at 100px, but appeared fine at 105px or 101px. Now it's not working at any dimensions. I've reverted it back to your version. Hope it's showing alright on your screen. Thank you for letting me know, Shreshth91. Please go ahead and change things as you see fit. -- PFHLai 14:45, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Hello. I tried the image at 110px in my sandbox and it appears there. Take a look. If it appears on your screen too, then you can change the template to 110px. - Aksi_great (talk) 14:58, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
It seems to work properly at 110px. Great job, Aksi great. Thanks. -- PFHLai 15:04, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

Good to know that it is still working. Thanks. No more cropping by me for the next little while, I suppose. --PFHLai 17:43, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] James Robert Baker

Hi, and thank you for your interest in my Baker article. You made an edit, saying a fact needed a citation (first edition prices). I know that first edition prices are in the hundreds of dollars, because I collect Baker's books. However, I can't find a stable online source that states this fact explicitly; only search engines at rare book websites, and they change depending on the available stock. Any suggestions?Jeffpw 08:29, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

I have added as a source, the website alibris.com, which is an online resource for finding rare books. Using their search engine, titles of priced First editions of his books show up. Is this an acceptable source?Jeffpw 09:10, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Hey, Jeff. Thank you for looking this up. Citing an everchanging webpage is not ideal, but I suppose anything is better than nothing to substantiate it. Thanks ! -- PFHLai 13:40, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you for the DYK

Thank you for the DYK on Samuel Cate Prescott. I really appreciated it. Chris 12:37, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Hey, Chris. No need to thank me. We should all thank you for doing a good job with the article. Happy editing. --PFHLai 13:24, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Whenever I receive something like the DYK, all I want to do is to be gracious when I accept the award. This include those who have helped on me getting this and to those who have have issued the award. I realize we are all in this together in improving Wikipedia, especially on items that are overdue. That is all. Chris 13:42, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Chris, you've certainly done the harder and more important part in improving Wikipedia, compared to my simple copying-&-pasting job at the DYK section on MainPage. We need more contributers like you. Thank you. -- PFHLai 14:24, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
You are welcome. Chris 14:29, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Birth of Bahá'u'lláh

Hi, I've seen that you edit some of the Selected Anniversary pages.I've created a new page for Birth of Bahá'u'lláh which is probably a better link for Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/November 12.I was wondering if you could change the link. Thanks, -- Jeff3000 21:59, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

Thank you for the suggestion, Jeff3000.I've changed the link as suggested. I wonder if this should be mentioned one day earlier, as per Wikipedia talk:Selected anniversaries#Sunset-to-Sunset Holidays. --PFHLai 22:16, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
The observance is indeed sunset to sunset (sunset on November 11th to sunset on November 12th).After reading the discussion on the talk page, I'm not sure what the consensus was.My personal feeling is that since most of the holy day observance happens on the second day of the event, the holiday should be noted on the second day, but if the consensus is otherwise, then the holiday should be mentioned on the 11th for consistency. Thanks again. -- Jeff3000 22:28, 5 November 2006 (UTC)
You are welcome. I don't think there is consensus. I can move links around as needed, but let's leave things as is for now. Thanks. --PFHLai 22:44, 5 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] The Stockholm Bloodbath

Hello there! I saw that you added the Stockholm Bloodbath to Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/November 10. This is unfortunately wrong, since it began on November 8 and ended on November 9. /Ludde23 Talk Contrib 09:41, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Hello, Ludde23. I wish I had known about this earlier. Thanks for letting me know. I posted this event on [Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/November 10] because I thought, after reading the article (and "http://members.tripod.com/Strv102r/stockholm_bloodbath.htm" in the external link section at the end), that the executions began after midnight of Nov. 9th (or, after 0:00 hours on Nov. 10th) and most of the executions took place during the following day (or, during daytime on Nov. 10th). I counted the days from Nov.7th (the evening when Christian called in the elders for a "meeting") onwards myself, but I do not have access to better references. (Googling was no help.) Did I mis-counted the days ?Please be encouraged to fix the dates in the Stockholm Bloodbath article. I would very much appreciate if you can help out with that. For 2007, I (or any admin) can move this anniversary to another day's template to go with the content of the article. Many thanks. --PFHLai 22:04, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] T:ITN

Sorry, but I don't want to screw this up, so I'm asking you. The headline I added is about Augusto Pinochet and the image I want to add Image:Augusto Pinochet official portrait.jpg. Can you crop or do whatever it is that you do and put it on the Main Page? Thanks in advance. Nishkid64 23:13, 26 November 2006 (UTC)

Yes, Nishkid64, cropping would be a good idea, but I don't think a fairuse image such as [Image:Augusto Pinochet official portrait.jpg] would be good for ITN. Anyway, Centrx has removed the line on Pinochet from ITN. Sorry for the delayed response. I'm not around that much these days. --PFHLai 16:47, 27 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Hajj

Hello, Tariq. Please be encouraged to add the first day of Hajj to MainPage, if it's not too late. I can't confirm the date from info in the article, so I ain't sure when the 5 days of Hajj is supposed to begin. Is it today ?Thanks in advance. --PFHLai 14:18, 29 December 2006 (UTC)

I was out today. However, to answer your question, Saudi Arabia (as far as I know) sighted the new moon on December 20 (extraordinarily hard to believe, but... uh... sure), so that means the first day of the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah began on December 21. The first day of hajj is the ninth day of Dhu al-Hijjah, so that would mean hajj began on December 29. -- tariqabjotu 00:09, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
So it was yesterday. Ooops... I've just added this to the SA template for Dec.29th anyway, as a reminder for whoever updating the templates in 2007. Oh, well....Thanks for letting me know.Hope you had fun in the snow. :-) Cheers. -- PFHLai 00:23, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
It will probably be closer to December 19 in 2007, so that won't be much of a reminder. -- tariqabjotu 00:27, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
At least it's on the same page. Hope this helps. --PFHLai 00:35, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

They are protected by another admin. It's better that you contact the protecting admin Zzyzx11, for this. --PFHLai 02:33, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Having noticed the above exchange, I performed the requested deletions.CSD R1 covers redirects to nonexistent pages. There's no valid reason to keep such redirects, so there was no point in contacting the protecting admin.—David Levy 04:33, 31 December 2006 (UTC)
Yes, procedure-wise, it's right to delete them. I'd prefer to defer to Zzyzx11 simply as a courtesy. If the protection was done by an inactive admin, I would've deleted them myself. No problem. Glad that it's done. -- PFHLai 14:54, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ayles Ice Shelf

I agree with Centrx that the article doesn't include enough current context to qualify for ITN inclusion, but I've listed it at Template talk:Did you know.—David Levy 04:21, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Well, I was just thinking about doing the same thing tomorrow. Oh, well... You beat me by about 12 hours. :-) Good night. -- PFHLai 04:26, 31 December 2006 (UTC)

Updated DYK query Did you know? was updated. On January 2, 2007, a fact from the article Ayles Ice Shelf, which you recently nominated, has been featured in that section on the Main Page. [edit] Archbishop item

See CNN and BBC News, which mention him admitting it. -- tariqabjotu 06:14, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

Is this in the article yet ? If so, please revert my edit on ITN. I'm working on shortening DYK at the moment. Thanks. --PFHLai 06:22, 8 January 2007 (UTC)
The only admission of anything I could find in the article was about his signing a cooperation statement with the secret police in 1978. It's not clear to me if he has admitted to anything else the newspapers have reported. If that's good enough for you as the same as "admitting he worked with Poland's Służba Bezpieczeństwa ...", okay, I trust your judgement. --PFHLai 07:21, 8 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] DYK Image

Although I agree with you that the image didn't show a civil war, if you swap out images from DYK in future please make sure they are protected. Image:East Kowloon Corridor.jpg wasn't. Cheers, Yomanganitalk 15:53, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Yomangani. Nishkid64 had already protected that image at 23:16, 2007 January 15 (UTC), about 15 hours before I posted it on DYK at 14:27, 2007 January 16 (UTC).I just unprotected (& deleted) it a few minutes ago. What's the problem ? --PFHLai 16:03, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Odd, I didn't see the local copy when I went to unprotect it after I updated DYK (which is why was still there just now). Sorry about that. Yomanganitalk 16:10, 17 January 2007 (UTC)
Okay, Yomangani.I'm glad to see more admins like you keeping an eye on things on MainPage. Cheers. --PFHLai 16:22, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Acts of Union 1707

Today is the 300th anniversary of the ratification of the Treaty of Union between Scotland and England. It is being "celebrated" as per the following AP/MSNBC.com article: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16638392/

If the problem is only allowing 5 articles, as a 300th anniversary, I think it outweighs Ivan the Terrible.

Ahseaton 20:32, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Ahseaton.I am aware of this 300th Anniversary of the Acts of Union 1707. I have already put this on the selected anniversary template for May 1st a few days ago. It was a merge that involved two parties. I find it inappropriate to put this on MainPage on the anniversary of the Scottish vote and ignore the anniversary of the English vote. (The reverse would also be bad. BTW, I can't find the date of the English vote.) So, I chose to feature this on the anniversary of the merge to avoid the appearance of a bias towards one of the two groups. Moreover, I think May 1st, 1707 is the more significant date. And there are some even less historic events than Ivan the terrible to displace from the May 1st template. --PFHLai 15:47, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] East Kowloon Corridor

Thanks for putting the picture of East Kowloon Corridor onto the main page! I'm surprised to see that too. ^^ BTW are you from Hong Kong? that "Lai", if anything, looks like a Chinese surname under the Hong Kong transliteration scheme. --Deryck C. 13:01, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

You are welcome, Deryck. I needed a replacement pic. Image:East Kowloon Corridor.jpg happened to be already protected. Easy choice for me. :-)
Yes, I grew up in HongKong. I left many years ago. Kowloon Peninsula was much "thinner" back then. :-) Thank you for your articles about HK. They bring back some good old memories.
Good Luck at the HKCEE. Cheers. --PFHLai 16:13, 17 January 2007 (UTC)

Thanks really much for greeting me good luck in HKCEE. I hope my pictures of Hong Kong can continue giving you sweet memories about Hong Kong ^^ --Deryck C. 07:45, 18 January 2007 (UTC)

Oh, yes, they do. And it's nice to see new things in Hong Kong I have never seen before. :-) --PFHLai 15:50, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Hi Thank you very much for deleting that, because it seems like he/she was getting out of hand. From Zach111493 my talkmy contributions

You are welcome, Zach. --PFHLai 15:47, 26 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Just a query or favour or anything

From the little encounter between you and me, do you think I qualify to run for adminship? Just asking, don't feel any emotions if you find I'm not good enough. --Deryck C. 13:41, 31 January 2007 (UTC)

Deryck, based on your contribution history, you appear to be an experienced Wikipedian with no recent conflicts with other users. I see no problems with an RfA. However, RfAs are often popularity contests. I suggest that you show up at popular discussion forums such as the Village Pump or Talk:Main Page (or even at IRC) to make more friends (potential voters) and be *visibly* helpful to others (potential voters). It would also be helpful if you have a few consecutive months of consistent output (100+ edits/month), rather than disappearing for long stretches every now and then, just to show some dedication. Hope this helps. Good Luck. --PFHLai 06:59, 2 February 2007 (UTC)
BTW, Deryck, shouldn't you be preparing for HKCEE now ?You are not my son, nor are you my student. So I ain't telling you what to do, what not to do. Just some friendly advice from someone who flunked out (No Form 6 for me ! Hence my reluctant departure from HK.): Don't underestimate the opponents. Good Luck. May the A's be with you. -- PFHLai 07:08, 2 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/February 11

Hi.

I want to add anniversary of victory of Islamic revolution(Or Iranian revolution) in this page:[1]

As you see there is written:"Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini seized power in Iran, and eventually became the Supreme Leader of the Islamic republic." But there should be a link to Islamic revolution(Or Iranian revolution) because Islamic republic established on April 1 of that year.

But this page is fully protected and just admins can do so. --Sa.vakilian 03:43, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

I see that Zzyzx11 has taken care of this. -- PFHLai 15:09, 10 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Logo of the African Union.svg

Can you upload this SVG image to commons under the commons:African Union info page (under the name "Coat of Arms of the African Union.svg"). 84.228.110.221 06:21, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

What licence should be used for the image ? WCommons does not accept fairuse logos. -- PFHLai 06:27, 27 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Govindbhai Dholakia

[edit] Senegal Elections

Hello, WikiTony. This is a mistake of mine. It's not accurate. The results are not official yet. Please do not restore my mistake as you did here and here. Thanks. --PFHLai 17:22, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Hi PFHLai,

The article that YOU cite claims the incumbent as the winner. If this info is not accurate perhaps YOU should find another source that agrees with what you are trying to say. I am not biased towards the current administration in Senegal. In fact, I cannot remember his name even as I write this. All I am saying is that YOUR source claims him as the winner. I also do not see the need for you to remove the Senegal General Election 2007 heading. Perhaps you can explain (not that you need to explain to me). Current events blurbs should be clear and consice. The way it looks now practically looks like an encyclopedia entry. This topic may be of significance to you personally and i understand you may wish to let the world know about Senegal's first elections in a long time but i do not think this is the appropriate way to do it. By the way, it is the "3RR" rule not "2RR" as you wrote in your summaries. Still, I only "reverted" once so i dont think i have to tell you what you can do with your "warnings." I will continue to edit the blurb in a way that i feel best portrays the situation. There is no room for bias or hearsay on the current events. I hope you understand. Please feel free to reply if you have any other concerns or questions. peace and love, WikiTony 21:03, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

No, WikiTony, that's not what the CNN article claims. It reports that unofficial results have been used by government sources to declare the incumbent the winner. Let's make the line on Portal: Current events concise, but we shouldn't overdo it and lose accuracy. Thanks. --PFHLai 00:12, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

I still dont understand why you keep removing the header. Look at every election of any country on the current events page. example: United States Presidential Election, 2008. I know there is no set rule but this is the consensus that WP contributors have come to and i do not appreciate you changing it. I do not claim to own the Current events portal but i do contribute to it very frequently and i think i have some knowledge of how to format it. I will now put the header back but keep what you have written. peace, WikiTony 03:01, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Why ? 'Coz it's taking up too much space. The link was not removed, but incorporated into the sentence. I am not aware of the consensus regarding the "header". The style changes depending on who's running the portal that month or so. It's good that you are maintaining a consistent style and format there. Please edit the line as you see fit. I am more interested in accuracy of the information. I like your passion and enthusiasm, but please bear in mind that this is a wiki afterall. Happy editing. -- PFHLai 14:52, 2 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Mawlid & Arba'een, 2007

Hello, Tariq. If you don't mind, could you confirm the 2007 date for Mawlid & Arba'een, and add them to Portal:Current events/Sidebar and Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/March, please ? Thank you. --PFHLai 15:59, 5 March 2007 (UTC)

Mawlid looks like it will be March 31 and Arba'een looks like it is March 11; I'm not sure why the dates for Mawlid were incorrect, but I took care of them. -- tariqabjotu 00:04, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
Thank you very much for your help, Tariq. --PFHLai 16:01, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks

Much thanks for celebrating my RFA success together with me. --Deryck C. 05:35, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Enjoy your new mop. :-) --PFHLai 17:00, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Valentina Tereshkova

The first woman in space turns seventy today, but our Main Page is perfectly ignorant of the fact. Ditto about Gabriel García Márquez, who turns eighty. Do you think it is OK? --Ghirla -трёп- 14:23, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

Hello, Ghirla. Thank you for your suggestions. Honestly, I am not that big on birthdays. For me to post a birthday on MainPage, the birthday boy or girl must be really, really notable and it should be a centenary or some nice, big, round number like 250, 750, ... etc. I'm afraid Tereshkova's 70th and Márquez's 80th birthday fall short on both fronts. If I am putting any birthdays on MainPage this year, it would be Leonhard Euler's 300th birthday on April 15. BTW, Tereshkova will be on MainPage on June 16, the anniversary of her historic flight. --PFHLai 16:17, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/March 12

I switched to a different image because a thumbnail of this one is unrecognizable at high resolutions. —David Levy 16:14, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

Okay. I put it back after I deleted your M-cropped picture. We'll find a better one for next year. Thanks, David. --PFHLai 16:18, 13 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Thanks! WikiThanks

Thanks for helping out with the DYK. When I created Medical research scientist and sent it to Did you know... talk, as my first article, I didn't know what would be good hook. Thanks again and cheers! — S.D. 11:58, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

You are welcome, S.D. I'm glad that I could help. Happy editing. :-) --PFHLai 12:52, 14 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Baha'i new year

Hello, I've created a new page for the Baha'i new year, Bahá'í Naw-Rúz. I was wondering if you think it is appropriate to change the link on Wikipedia:Selected anniversaries/March 21. Regards, -- Jeff3000 22:48, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

Sure, Jeff3000. Good job with the article. The link is now on the SA template. Thank you for the suggestion. --PFHLai 11:50, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
I never thanked you for your help, so here's a late "Thank you". Regards, -- Jeff3000 13:55, 21 March 2007 (UTC)
