[edit] Albums

Wow, nice work on all the albums you've created! Everytime I create albums of articles, I save them right here, wanna see? -- Mike Garcia | talk 01:08, 5 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Italicized titles

Hi. I see that you have edited the style of Dead Kennedys albums (you made them italic).....WHY ? I like how the BOLD looks. In my opinion it looks better cand you can read them...better, cos they are bold. --PET 23:35, 5 May 2005 (UTC)

I italicized them because that is the standard style for album titles on Wikipedia, according to Wikipedia:WikiProject_Music, specifically [1]: "Albums are italicized and songs are in quotes." --Myles Long 16:44, 6 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Music

I just got your message. I just have a good taste of music, man. That's why I've created several albums! -- Mike Garcia | talk 21:52, 11 May 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Pictures

Hey, I saw you added some pictures to wikipedia, i was looking at some of them, and saw that you have not added a copyright tag to them. Image Copyright tags. Any image on the site has to have a copyright tag, please go back and add a copyright tag to your pictures. --ZeWrestler 12:22, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)

  • Well, thanks for notice me. I'm starting to add the ©. I have a question. I found a picture Robert Trujillo picutre...but i don't know what copyright tag to put. Any sugetion ? --PET 14:31, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)
    • Where did you get the picture from??--ZeWrestler 15:53, 21 Jun 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Hypocrisy

Hi there, good job on creating all the Hypocrisy album pages. I took the liberty of fixing a few things there though, like spelling of last names (Tagtgren/Tägtgren, Szoke/Szöke) and some incorrect years in the album box. I also changed the genre from Black metal to Death metal, hope you don't mind. --Hellqvist 22:53, July 17, 2005 (UTC)

Why Hypocrisy are death metal? Personally, I can't see much black metal in their music (except some of the vocals), and they're referred to as "death metal" everywhere. Even on their own home page: http://www.hypocrisy.tv/html/biography.html
Allmusic.com also calls them a death metal band. --Hellqvist 23:25, July 20, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Copyright

You cannot copy other web pages into Wikipedia legally without permission. I have already reverted Gary Karr and Victor DeLorenzo to their prior states, and will continue sifting through your contributions. If I sound extremely annoyed, it is because you have been here long enough to know better. -- Cyrius| 07:18, 30 July 2005 (UTC)

Under international law (the Berne Convention), all creative works are copyright with all rights reserved unless it is explicitly stated otherwise. That includes a person's official biography on the person's official site.
In the meantime, I have marked The Gathering (Testament album) as a copyright violation as the bulk of the actual article content consists of a copy/paste from the All Music Guide review. It will be deleted. You may recreate it without the offending material if you would like. -- Cyrius| 07:39, 30 July 2005 (UTC)
The offending material has been there since you created the page. There's no "clean" version to revert to. -- Cyrius| 07:43, 30 July 2005 (UTC)

[edit] response to your question

article was rv'd mainly due to your own response on the talk page as to why you added the category in the first place. "Stupid guitars, stupid drumming" would seem to indicate a personal POV on your part rather than a general concensus based on overall public opinion. I won't argue it. I personally don't care for the album. But sooner or later it was bound to get rv'd by somebody. It was an invitation for an edit war. If you can cite a few mass trade publications or some widely available polls to link to then you can throw any arguement back in there because there'll be something to back it up. I see it going on a bit there as far as the 'total sales' goes. 57 million in the U.S. and 84 million worldwide based on some valid sources posted by someone earlier. And yet some people keep going back it and changing it to 'over 200 million sold'. It's probably more emotion than statistical fact.Mr Pyles

[edit] Raspuns dupa cateva luni

Who is William Mauco Here is an article about a Wikipedia celebrity, William Mauco, and his relations with the International Council for Democratic Institutions and State Sovereignty (ICDISS), an organisation "which seems to be a front organisation for a Kremlin-backed rogue statelet called Transdniestria" (quote from the article) http://0.bypass-filter.com/index.php?q=aHR0cDovL2Vkd2FyZGx1Y2FzLmJsb2dzcG90LmNvbS8yMDA2LzA4L2dvdGNoYS0yLmh0bWw%3D

Edward Lucas wrote about Mauco: "The other lead is William Mauco. He has an extensive record of posting intelligent and fairly neutral entries on Wikipedia, not only about TD but about other unrecognised statelets. Crucially, these predate ICDISS's birthday of January 2006. And he also claims to have been at their conference in Mexico City in April of this year. I have written to him asking to get in touch, and had a friendly email in reply. I am planning to follow up this research in an article in European Voice at the end of August, so watch this space!"--MariusM 08:32, 16 September 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Bizarre reaction to a list of Jesuit activities

Whatever you FEEL like it says, it actually "says" a list of their apostolates; they run 28 colleges and universities in US alone, plus the Weston School of Theology, the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley, and individual Jesuits have and do serve on the faculties of dozens of other universities, plus they run several scholarly and semi-popular publications, and that's just for openers and only in the US -- so saying that "Their works are focused on education and intellectual contributions, primarily at colleges and universities," is not cheerleading. The "as well as missionary work " is built into their own constitutions: technically they were founded as a missionary order, and jesuit missions are found today all over Africa, South America, Asia and the Pacific Islands. The "ministry in human rights and social justice" is witnessed by the fact that they have their own, full-blown NGO, The Jesuit Refugee Service, and jesuits serve on the stafs of a wide variety of deomestic and foreign social justice agencies. Nowhere does this paragraph say Jesuits are the "only" ones to do all this, or that they "do it better than anyone else." The sentence is simple and NPOV: the fact you react to it with such "feelings" is something that should prompt an examination of why, on your poart, not removal from the article.HarvardOxon 23:26, 6 March 2007 (UTC)
