Dr. Steven Petrosino received his Baccalaureate degree from Penn State University in 1975, pursued his Masters degree with honors at Penn State in 1978, and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Doctorate in Nutrition from Lasalle University in 1995. His doctoral dissertation examined the effects of race and poverty on cardiovascular health. He was an Adjunct Professor of Nutrition at LaSalle University (1995-1999); a member of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Consensus Development Committee on Cardiovascular Disease; a Professional Member and Charter Member of the American Heart Association Scientific Councils on Epidemiology and Prevention of Cardiovascular Disease; a Professional Member and Charter Member of the American Heart Association Scientific Council on Nutrition, Physical Activity and Metabolism; a Professional Member of the American Heart Association Interdisciplinary Working Group on Functional Genomics and Translational Biology; an Allied Health Care Practitioner member of the American Preventive Medical Association (APMA), a Scientific Member of the American College for Advancement in Medicine (ACAM), and a member of the Executive Board of Directors of the American Heart Association (Ohio Council), and the Executive Board of Directors of the Arthritis Foundation (Franklin County, Ohio). Dr. Petrosino is a Certified Health Coach and nutrition specialist who was formerly employed as a consultant and specialist in Degenerative Diseases (Cardiovascular, Rheumatologic, and Oncological diseases) by AVENTIS, Inc., and is currently a Senior Clinical Scientist (Johnson and Johnson, Inc.), and is an Allied Health Care Practitioner affiliate of the American Preventive Medical Association (APMA). He is a 1998 graduate of the National Defense University in Washington, D.C., and was listed in Outstanding Young Men of America, 1986 edition. He is currently listed in the 2005-2006 National Register edition of Who's Who in Executives and Professionals. Dr. Petrosino is a member of the High IQ Society, Mensa of America, an Attack Helicopter Commander (Cobras) and Lieutennant Colonel in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve who served (until his retirement in 2004) as Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff G-3 (IMA Det) at Marine Forces Atlantic, and whose awards include two Air medals, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and the Combat Action Ribbon. He is the current holder of a Guinness World Record in Human Achievements. Dr. Petrosino is the author of the Nutrition Advisor website, and several others. Dr. Petrosino is married to Lynn, and he and his wife reside in Columbus, OH with their two children, Angela and Aaron. Both Dr. Petrosino and his wife, Lynn hold Black Belts in Tae Qwon Do Karate (West Coast Tae Kwon Do Association).
