Petzl

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Petzl is a French manufacturer of innovative climbing gear, caving gear, at-height work equipment, and headlamps that was created by Fernand Petzl in the mid-1970s.

Petzl is reputed for its high-quality, well designed gear, such as the Grigri, an auto-locking device used to belay rock climbers.

Petzl was the first manufacturer[citation needed] to utilize light-emitting diode (LED) technology in its headlamps in 2000, resulting in more battery efficient headlamps. This technology was subsequently adopted by many other manufacturers in the outdoor industry.
