Petrovec, Republic of Macedonia

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Petrovec (Macedonian: Петровец) is a small village in the Republic of Macedonia situated about 30km west of the national capital Skopje. It is a seat of the Petrovec municipality.

Though rather small, the village name is known throughout the country as the title of Skopje's airport - the bigger of two international airports in Macedonia - as the airport is situated very close to the village. Petrovec is mostly populated by ethnic Macedonians.
