Petroto (Greek: Πετρωτό) is a little village located near Omplos mountain and Achaia Clauss. It is known for its resistance on Turkish forces who tried to kill everyone in this place. The Turkish had a castle next to Saint George's church, now it is Mr Papadopoulos Vasileios house on it, which was their threatening base to the village's people. The village is also known for the unique wine factory Achaia Clauss which produces the A class wine Mavrodafni. The entry to Achaia Clauss is slightly to the east. Petroto is linked with roads to Patras and Saravali as well as a road to Krystallovryssi and the Omplos monastery. Petroto is located east of Patras, northeast of Ovrya and east of the Patras By-Pass (GR-8/GR-9) with its nearest interchange west of Saravali at the Glafkos river. Pine forests along with the mountains covers the easttern part, more forests cover the western part with willow trees, a stream runs to the south, the hills to the northern part, farmlands dominate the western and the southern parts and the Glafkos River lies to the north. Much of the population remain rural instead of urban, the urban population lies to the south. The boundary with Patras is partially over the Glafkos River. The population between 1981 and 1991 is one of the villages in the Achaia prefecture that lost the most population.
Several houses are in the central part of the community and covers within the Perimeter superhighway.

Petroto has a school, a church, a post office and a small square (plateia), the nearest lyceum and the gymnasia schools is in Saravali.
