Petroleum Geo-Services ASA (OSE: PGS, NYSE: PGS), an oilfield service company, provides geophysical services worldwide and floating production services in the North Sea. The company provides various seismic and reservoir services, including acquisition, processing, interpretation, and field evaluation. As of July 28, 2005, it owned and operated four floating production, storage, and offloading units. The company is headquartered in Lysaker, Norway; there are also major offices in Houston, Texas, US; Walton-on-Thames, UK and Perth, Australia.

Petroleum Geo-Services (PGS) was founded in 1991, to focus on the production of high grade seismic data for oil companies.

PGS operates in two primary business areas - seismic and production - through three operating units: Marine Geophysical, Onshore Geophysical, and Production. In addition, a Reservoir business unit provides reservoir expertise.

The PGS group employs approximately 2,800 people and has offices and operations in more than 20 countries worldwide, its revenues for 2006 were approximately 1.3 billion USD.
