Petra (1974) |
Come and Join Us (1977) |
Petra is the first studio release of the Christian rock band of the same name. It was released in 1974.
The album features a style bordering between country and southern rock somewhat similar to The Eagles or Lynyrd Skynyrd, which was the band's trademark during its first years. The album is a very raw album, especially compared to their polished releases due in large part to the limited budget of the band, as well as the inexperience in the recording studio by both the band and the producer.
The album also lacks the presence of a lead singer per se. During its first years, the lead vocals in the band were featured by guitarists Bob Hartman and Greg Hough.
