Petr Prucha (Cz: Petr Průcha, b. September 14, 1982) is a professional ice hockey player for the New York Rangers.

Born in Chrudim, Czechoslovakia, Prucha was scouted by the Rangers at the same time as Henrik Lundqvist, and has paid big dividends for the Rangers. He was drafted in the 8th round of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, 240th overall.

He played 47 games in the 2004-05 season for HC Moeller Pardubice in the Czech Republic League, scoring 7 goals with 17 points.

The next season Prucha moved onto the New York Rangers, and as a rookie scored 30 goals and 47 points in 68 games. His 16 powerplay goals on the season broke Camille Henry's record for the single season rookie PPG mark for the Rangers.

Jaromir Jagr took the young Czech Prucha under his wing, as Prucha was new to New York in 2005. During the 2005-06 NHL season he and Jagr shared an apartment on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, however they no longer do.

After Prucha scores a goal in a game at Madison Square Garden, the song "Genghis Khan" by Dschinghis Khan is played since the "Hoo Haa" part sounds like the name "Prucha."
