Peterson Events Center also known as the "Pete" is the sports arena for the University of Pittsburgh men's and women's NCAA Division I Basketball teams and also hosts some Pittsburgh Xplosion ABA games. It is one of the newer basketball arenas in the world and has been touted as one of the best venues to catch a roundball game be it pro or college.

Located on the grounds of where old Pitt stadium stood, the Peterson events center has been home to the Pitt men's and women's basketball teams since 2002. Capacity is 12,508. As of February 2007, the Panthers have lost only seven games in this arena giving them one of the best home winning percentages in the country.
