Peterborough (HM Prison)

HMP Peterborough opened in Spring 2005. It is a Category B prison and the first purpose-built prison to house both men and women, accommodating 480 men and 360 women, with a dozen of the latter places set aside for a maternity care unit. The prison's main use is for remand prisoners and those awaiting transfer to other prisons.

Peterborough is run by United Kingdom Detention Services (UKDS).
