Peter and the Test Tube Babies are a punk rock band formed around Brighton in 1978 and still touring today. In 1982 they covered the chart-topping Gary Glitter hit "I'm The Leader of The Gang (I Am)", on their album Pissed and Proud which got some notoriety, being called a contender for the worst cover version of all time.[citation needed]

They are noted for their irreverent tongue in cheek lyrics and their surprisingly high level of musicianship.
