Peter Thompson is a Northern Irish Footballer who plays for Linfield in the Irish Premier League. He has also been capped by Northern Ireland.
He was the irish league's top goalscorer in 2005-2006, scoring 48 goals in 58 games in League and Cup competitions. These goals helped his club Linfield to not only the League title but also all three domestic cups - giving Linfield the clean sweep and leaving rivals Glentoran empty handed. Peter was the scorer of two goals in a 2-1 victory over Glentoran in the Irish League Cup Final. Peter is a fans' favourite and has been given the name 'Pistol Pete'. Starting beside Linfield Legend Glenn "Spike" Ferguson upfront they were a force to be reckoned with, in the 2005-06 season the a partnership collected 90 goals. Helping the team to 166 goals in just 60 games (2.77/game). He was linked with a move to Scotish side Gretna, but decided to stay at Linfield for the remainder of the season.
