Peter McColgan

Peter McColgan is a former Northern Irish steeplechaser and athletics star.

McColgan holds the Northern Irish 3000 metres indoor record with a time of 07:54.48 as well as the two and three kilometre steeplechase outdoor records. He represented Northern Ireland at the 1986 Commonwealth Games for both 5000 m and 3000 m Steeplechase.

He is married to 1991 10,000m World Champion Liz McColgan, with whom he currently runs a gym, near their home in Dundee. They have a family of five, including daughter Eilish, who won the British cross country championships in 2004, and is one of the top ranked top under-17 athletes over both 800 m and 1500 m.
