Peter Maxwell, 28th Baron de Ros

Peter Trevor Maxwell, 28th Baron de Ros (born December 2, 1958) is the Premier Baron of England, by virtue of his holding the oldest baronial title created in the Peerage of England that is not subsumed into another, higher ranking title.
He is the son of Commander John David Maxwell RN and of Georgiana Angela Ross, who held the title in her own right.
The 28th Baron was educated at Headfort School, in Kells, Ireland, as well as Down High School, in Downpatrick, Ireland. In 1987, the baron married Angela Sián Ross, and they have three children:
- The Honourable Finbar James Maxwell (born November 14, 1988), who is his father's heir apparent
- The Honourable Katherine Georgiana Maxwell (born 1990)
- The Honourable Jessye Maeve Maxwell (born 1992)
