Peter Dyakowski

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Peter Stefan Dyakowski (born April 19, 1984, in Vancouver, British Columbia) is starting right tackle for the LSU Tigers football team in his senior year.

Peter played his high school football for Vancouver College High School, where he was one of the best high school football players in all of Canada. Peter did not start playing football until he entered Grade 10. He hated sitting on the bench as a rarely used Sophomore, so he hit the weight room and began to practice with passion. He started as a Junior, and was on every Canadian university's recruiting list as a Senior. He was a AAA all star for the Fighting Irish, losing the Provincial championship game after a wonderful play-off run. It should also be noted that Peter was exceptionally gifted in the classroom, earning several A's on Provincial examinations. After high school he signed a national letter of intent to play for LSU and becoming the first ever Canadian to play for the Tigers.

Dyakowski was drafted into the CFL by the Hamilton Tigercats in the second round of the 2006 draft.

In his early years at LSU he was nicknamed "The Mullet" because of his hair style, and captured a national title in 2004. In 2003 and 2004 he was a member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll. Then, as a senior at LSU he received the Southeastern Conference Community Service Team Player of the Week Award and was LSU's nominee for the 2006 Southeastern Conference Football Good Works Team.

He was named to ESPN.com's All Bowl Team and played in the Inta Juice North-South All Star Game following his senior season at LSU.

He is currently working as a janitor at the Lod Cook Alumni Center awaiting the draft and is dating Bonnie Chelette.
